-
- Yes, there's a very simple workaround, and in fact for designing a three or
- four panel brochure it's a much better option anyway.
-
- Create a landscape page with the dimensions of the media you're printing to.
- Ie., if, when the brochure is completely unfolded, it's really just an A4
- page, select a landscaped A4.
-
- Using the margin guides function, place some margin guides at the places
- where you would expect the fold to be. Keep in mind that in order to fold
- snuggly, the panels won't be EXACTLY even--use an existing brochure to get
- a better idea of the measurements.
-
- And that's pretty much it. Zoom in to work on each panel individually,
- zooming out to check the overall look of the brochure.
-
- Why is it better to use this method? Because you can see the
- relationship between the objects on each panel as you're working. The reader
- will usually open it entirely to read the inside and back, so it's best to
- actually work on it as one unit.
-
- You wanted the job done LAST month? Oh, sorry... for that you'll need
- ProPage. Pagestream will require two months of frustruations and another
- three of waiting for the next upgrade :)
-
- Seriously though, I would be wary of using Pagestream for paid work,
- especially the time critical stuff. From experience, it's not nice
- discovering that Pagesteam has some unusual little quirk that will stump you
- right at the last moment. Let the kids use it to create their birthday
- invites, and stick to ProPage until there's a more finished version.
-

- OJ.
